Eurovision 2016 participant Ira Losco has managed to get Malta through to the final after getting through the first semi-final in Stockholm last night.
Malta’s entry was a favourite to qualify but it was all very tense for Malta in the end as Walk on Water was the last of the 10 qualifying entries to be announced.
A stunning performance from Losco, who announced she is 5 and a half months pregnant last Sunday. The BBC has compared her to A-list star Eva Longoria and one BBC commentator said “if I were pregnant like her, I would be at home eating mature cheddar”.
The other countries that qualified include: Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan and Austria.A second semi-final will take place on Thursday before the winner is chosen on Saturday.
Ira Losco, participated for the first time in the Eurovision back in 2002 and managed to place 2nd with her entry “Seventh Wonder“. This year, she is patricipating with the song “Walk On Water” which was co-written with Lisa Desmond, Tim Larsson, Tobias Lundgren, Molly Pettersson Hammar.
The final of Euovision 2016 will be held this Saturday 14 May 2016 at Ericsson Globe, Stockholm Sweden.
